Confined.work, creativity in the digital during confinement
Date: Thursday July 2nd, 2020
17:45 – 18:00 Live stream via Youtube. Latest link here
18:15 – 18:45 Live Zoom Q&A Session
About the presentation
During this presentation, you will hear from Arvid and Marie about how confinement has disrupted creativity and creation, and has inspired them to create a new digital exhibition Confined.Work.
In this new born-digital gallery, we invite people into our homes and display our work within its current production site. From our confined spaces — dispersed across country borders — we give our individual answers to the question: What did isolation make you reflect on? Confined.Work is a collaboration with TAC, Art + Tech Society, Baptiste Labat, Jonas Ersland, Arvid&Marie, Mikaela Steby Stenfalk and Post Neon.
The opening of this exhibition and supportive activities will run on Friday July 3rd from 20:00 to 23:00 during the TAC2GO event (see below).
Info about the speakers
Arvid&Marie is a duo of artists, experienced designers and technological adventurers always aiming to discover new ways to stretch our world. They collaborate together on their shared passion for art and technology.
Through the use of interactive objects and performative storytelling, Arvid&Marie use their collaborative effort to explore post-human theories, focusing their creative attention on practical cybernetics and autonomous machines. They believe that researching how humans express themselves,
philosophically and technologically, can lead to long lasting, positive change.

About the exhibition
Confined.Work is an online participative exhibition exploring different experiences of creation in pandemic isolation.
In the confinement succeeding the COVID-19 outbreak, the shift to the digital landscape has accelerated along an equally exponential curve as the virus itself. An already relatively fast process, starting with the introduction of digital technology and the birth of the internet, is currently accelerating into an extreme state. During Lockdowns, we both create and engage with design and art solely from the isolation of our homes and screens — the production site of the work has literally moved into our living rooms, kitchen tables or bedrooms, and it is from that same space we visit museums, shops and galleries through numerous livestreams and online programming. Public spaces and societal functions have moved onto
the internet and reach us only through our technical devices. What was meant to be physical is forced into the digital, even ourselves and our thoughts.
In our born-digital gallery, we invite the visitor into our homes and display our work within its current production site. From our confined spaces — dispersed across country borders — we give our individual answers to the question: What did isolation make you reflect on?
